I am happy to be able to announce, that as of today, eLD will field a new TF2 team, after our old team decided to retire from competitive gaming in December after ending Season 6 in ETF2L.

We have started the creation of the next generation supergamers. At the moment we are working hard on a prototype and Ydor tells me the subject appears very promising and cute. I don't want to give away too much right now but expect more information shortly from our great leader.

Goede dag everyone!
On august 14th. a new installment of the wolfenstein franchise is coming to the shelves. We currently have a thread in our forums about this game. So if you are eLD-member and remoteley interested in this, feel free to join the discussion. Since we have a strong tradition concerning id-software games, we'll surely give this game a try. The minimum specs are pretty moderate, so you won't need a high end machine.

P.S Since it's 2009 and many old fellows have vanished in the so-called "real life", this post is also directed to anyone who was kind of affiliated with eLD-RTCW or eLD-ET/siLence/United-Crew/HFD whether as a fellow player, or player from a friendly clan we used to scrim with. Some update about what happened lately:
The league seasons in the last months went pretty mediocre from our point of view, we aren't too unhappy though, we used the time to integrate our new players and work on the teamplay.
In the ETF2L we ended up 3rd in the 2nd division, in the UKeSA we ended 3rd in our championship division and in the ESL before the last game we are on the - surprise - 3rd position in the 2nd division. If we win our last game in the ESL season III though, we might work our way up to rank 2.
Upcoming:
We have signed up for season 5 of the ETF2L, which is again fielding a record number of signups, 298 teams so far, and this time, having improved significantly again since middle of last season, aim for ending on the top 2 ranks of div 2, thus qualifying for maybe proceeding to div 1.
As the next UKeSA championship is only starting August 8th, we've signed up for the 3rd qualifier for the ESL Major Series EMS4.

Our beloved clan was founded on 26th of march 1997 and therefore is in existence for exactly 12 years as of today.
Rejoice and join our big party.
To celebrate this event, I'm going to write a new summary of the clans history to publish later today or tomorrow, and in summer there will be an anniversary meeting. The TF2-team has already taken holidays off work for the last week of July.
On further notice, Warbeast, our most infamous soldier and allrounder back from QWTF and Q3F (squadleader in latter) today passed his final exam (colloquium) and is now bachelor of business information systems. Gratz!!

Today we played a UKeSA match against Blood Pressure. We had huge issues starting with tf2 server problems, escalating to mumble problems and getting a team together. Fortunately we were able to play on BP's server, we got to borrow a mumble server from TRIAD (thanks guys) and when the match was about to start we even got our sixth player online.
The problem was... he couldn't start Steam, which seems to be a common bug these days. We waited as long as we could bear to keep the BP guys waiting and then started playing 5vs6. On well that's really hard and we would've propably lost the map if our sixth hadn't joined the game after we had lost the first round. In the end we pulled a win on both well and turbine.
Finally, I'd like to thank BP for their patience and compliment them on their great attitude and sportmanship. I wish every team would be like them. So thanks for the game and it was fun playing you guys!

First 4 games of ETF2L season 4 have been so so...
Won the first 2 games, but gave away unnecessarily some points by drawing one map each time due to stupid mistakes. 3rd game was a tie, each team winning one map, again really unnecessarily ceded points.
4th game was against FB, a very intense and tight game, first round on cp_badwater, which we had only played twice before in a practise, never with a match lineup and both times using mercs, we lost it due to taking way too long to capture the last point, until that capture point we were way faster in stopwatch mode than FB was. 2nd map was fastlane, on which we had beaten FB last game, but this time we had a streak of bad luck. Our medic had no working microphone, one of our guys timed out from server, another one crashed to desktop and had to restart the game, but apart of those excuses it was a very very tight round, especially the first round, when after 23 minutes FB finally managed to score the point, which was then almost the decision already, each team managed to score once again, so the final score was 1-2.
We're aiming for consolidating our position in upper midfield of div 2 for this season now and next seasons goal will be to advance to div 1.
Furthermore we have entered the ESL season III and the UKeSA tournament, playing championship in the latter (semiprofessional lvl, prize pot 1,600.00 GBP).
